Why Play for the Pack
The Hartford Jr Wolfpack Hockey Club represents a measure of hard work and dedication affording young athletes the opportunity to play hockey at a high level. We field Split Season Tier 1 teams at the U18, U16 and U15 National Bound level. Our program is led by Rob Gagnon, Director - Midget Hockey (see Bio), who is well known and highly regarded in regional and national hockey circles for recruitment, coaching and placement of prep school, junior and college hockey players.
The organization was formed in order to create a way for local and players from far to come and develop in order to take the proper steps to have a successful career on and off the ice. As an organization our goal is to prepare each player to the best of our ability for life on and off the ice and prepare them for the next chapter of their career. We demand that our players are the hardest working players who have just a strong of a commitment on the ice as they do in the classroom.
Our focus is on operating a National Bound Split Season program the “right way,” which to us includes a primary focus on maximizing the development of our players through professional training and unparalleled on ice development time consistent with the needs of high school aged hockey players in our region.
What sets us apart from other split season programs is our “development-first” approach versus “game-first” which is not common at the split season level. We are proud to include in our program several development weekends where we focus on skills, skating, video and overall hockey IQ. We will be bringing in prominent guest coaches in each of these areas from various NCAA, Junior, NHL and Prep School ranks for these weekends.
